Sunday Briefing: Andreas Christoforou

Cyprus’ Andreas “daskalos20” Christoforou helped himself to his largest-ever poker tournament score on Jun. 25 when he came out on top in the PokerStars Sunday Million and walked away with $165,000.

A total of 5,764 entries were processed in this weekend’s $215 buy-in event, which resulted in a $1,152,800 prize pool. Daskalos20 found himself heads-up with “cxde” of Slovakia and the last standing duo struck a deal that saw cxde net $127,329 and when Christoforou eventually won all of the chip in play, he banked $165,000.

The sum won by Christoforou is his seventh six-figure score.
