Day 3 Recap

A field of 39 players began Day 3, with Ari Oxman in the lead. Nine former champions were also part of the field, but Keven Stammen, Pat Lyons, Tony Tran, Harrison Gimbel and Ben Palmer were all among the first ten players eliminated.

John Hennigan then ran pocket sixes into the pocket tens of Michael Mizrachi to fall in 23rd place, and with the tournament down to two tables it was Kitty Kuo who sat in the lead with close to 200 big blinds.

Tim McDermott wasn't far behind, and after starting the day second in chips, he eliminated WPT Commentator and Champions Club member Tony Dunst in 13th place to lead the final 11 players at the dinner break.

Scotty Nguyen

Each player was guaranteed $72,410 at this point, with Poker Hall of Famer Scotty Nguyen the first eliminated after dinner at the hands of Kyna England. This meant England lead the final nine players who were redrawn around a single table.

The last remaining WPT Champion was Michael Mizrachi, who fell in ninth place after being rivered by Mike Liang. 'The Grinder' was followed out the door by Nacho Barbero, eliminated by Chad Eveslage. The final elimination of the day was Oxman who was eliminated by Mike Liang, with both Eveslage and Liang vying for the chip lead with just four big blinds separating them.
