It was a late start and a late finish here at the 2013 Aussie Millions LK Jewellery $250,000 Challenge, but the day wasn't without excitement as some of the biggest names in the game plopped a massive AU$250,000 buy-in on the table to battle in this event. Some of the players even fired two bullets — four of them, to be exact.
At the end of the night, Tobias Reinkemeier stood on top of the pack with 1.237 million in chips. He'll be joined by fellow Germans Fabian Quoss and Igor Kurganov, then Richard Yong, Winfred Yu, Erik Seidel and Sam Trickett.
The field grew to 18 entries throughout the day as Andrew Robl, Gus Hansen, Tony Bloom and Paul Phua all fired two bullets. They all failed to make it to Day 2, joining the likes of Jason Mercier, Antonio Esfandiari and Philipp Gruissem on the rail.
With seven players returning for action tomorrow, three of them will be leaving empty handed. Only the top four spots pay out, with a min-cash worth AU$500,000. Top prize is AU$2,000,000, and it's still anybody's game.

Picking up the action on the 
flop, Paul Phua fired a bet of 50,000, and Tobias Reinkemeier made the call in position to see the 
land on the turn. Phua bet again, and this time he made it 150,000 to go. Reinkemeier took his time, then called.
On the river, the 
landed. Phua shipped all in for right about 320,000, and Reinkemeier snapped him off.
"Straight?" asked Phua right away.
"Yep," Reinkemeier said as he nodded.
Phua showed the 
for two pair, but Reinkemeier's 
for the straight was the winning hand. Reinkemeier had Phua covered and that wrapped up the night's play as the level came to an end immediately after.

Andrew Robl was on his way to a second final table in one week but he was just knocked out by Winfred Yu. Robl shoved from the button and Winfred Yu called from the small blind.
"I have a sh*t hand," Robl said.
"I know you have a sh*t hand, but I don't like it when you beat my good hand," Yu replied with a smile as both players turned their cards over.
