The PokerStars Open

There's a brand-new poker series coming to Europe in 2025 and it's going to be massive: The PokerStars Open. The series comprises six standalone stops plus two Open Main Events at European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona and EPT Monte Carlo, with each featuring a €1/£1 million guaranteed Main Event.

The PokerStars Open replaces the Estrellas, Eureka, FPS, and UKIPT , promising to take elements of these popular tours to make the new PokerStars Open a roaring success. Each of the six standalone stops plus the special events at EPT Barcelona and EPT Monte Carlo boast a Main Event with a €1/£1 million guaranteed prize pool.

Where Is the PokerStars Open Heading in 2025?

The first of six standalone PokerStars Opens shuffles up and deals on March 10 in picturesque Campione, Italy. The new tour heads to Ireland in April, where it forms part of the Irish Open, before heading to Namur in Belgium in May.

Players can enjoy some poker fun in the sun in June when PokerStars Open Malaga takes place. The tour lands in Manchester, United Kingdom, in late June before wrapping up in Cannes on the French Riviera in December.

Through into the mix the PokerStars Opens running during EPT Monte Carlo in late April/early May, and EPT Barcelona in mid-August, and you can see it's going to be a busy debut season for the PokerStars Open.

What to Expect at Each PokerStars Open Stop

Although PokerStars is yet to unveil an even schedule for any of the PokerStars Open stops, PokerNews has it on good authority that those schedules will be bustling. A €1/£1 million guaranteed Main Event will be the showpiece tournament at each stop, with dozens of affordable and accessible side events complementing the seven-figure guaranteed tournament.

Live satellites will be available at the PokerStars Open venues and online satellites at PokerStars; online satellites for PokerStars Open Campione are in the PokerStars client now.

Cedric Billot, Associate Director of Live Events Operations at PokerStars, cannot wait for the first PokerStars Open to get underway in March.

"PokerStars is thrilled to introduce a new series of events to the European poker calendar. Our PokerStars Open events will offer players accessible exceptional experiences, with each venue providing a distinct atmosphere that contributes to a cohesive European series, complementing the European Poker Tour while also standing out on their own."

"We understand that players love to travel for tournaments, so we've expanded to the PokerStars Open format. This allows us greater flexibility to host million-guaranteed events across Europe, beyond just our traditional national tour locations."
