Day 2 of GUKPT Reading £1,000 Main Event is in the books, after ten levels of play from The Grosvenor Casino Reading South. The Main Event108 hopefuls, including 11 max late registrations before play started, all with a chance at the title. Just 14 remain going into the final day's action.
Play took until about half way through the day to get down to the bubble, with 34 players getting a return on their investment. It was Duc Cao who finished in 35th after he got in top pair in a multiway hand against a full house. The remaining 34 players were playing for a top prize of £78,260.
From the bubble to the end of Day 2 saw 34 turn to 14, with no bust outs in the entire level 19. In the money were Lithuania’s Migle Kriksciunaite in 26th, Leo Worthington in 25th and Renee Xie in 20th, just to name a few.
Some stack coming back to Day 3 are pros Jack Hardcastle (680,000), Jack Loraine (565,000) and Kuljinder Sidhu (505,00), all of which had a swingly last hour of play, trading stacks and bluffing in big pots against one another.

PokerNews didn't catch the bust out, but according to Benjamin Creasey at the table the short stacked Robert Malvasi had got in his last 70,000 or so with against the of Kuljinder Sidhu, who had opened from middle position.
The board ran was run and Sidhu hit a king to send Malvasi packing in 16th, good for £3,360.

Jack Loraine had bet 47,000 into a pot of around 65,000 on a board of against Jack Hardcastle in the big blind.
Hardcastle responded by raising to 240,000, most of his chips. Loraine then took a look at Hardcastle's chip, sat back in his chair and contemplated his options.
Ultimately Loraine folded and Hardcastle turned over for a pair of eights that he turned into a bluff.

After Jack Hardcastle opened the hijack. Jack Loraine then three-bet from the button to 50,000. Hardcastle responded by four-betting to 125,000, but Loraine then five-bet to 201,000.

After Rick Trigg limped the small blind, Jack Hardcastle checked behind and went to a flop where Trigg continued for 10,000. Hardcastle made the call.
The turn got a 22,000 lead from Trigg once again, Hardcastle still called.
On a river, Trigg fired 75,000 into the pot and Hardcastle let his hand go.
