Day 1b Completed
After 8 hours of play, Day 1b of the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK Main Event is in the books. Day 1b attracted 165 entries of which 19 of them were a reentry. Out of all those entrants, 88 made it through to Day 2, Thursday, October 4. Adding the totals for the first two live starting flights and the online Day 1, this makes it a total of 224 entries playing for the amazing guarantee of £5,000,000!
Taking the Day 1b chip lead is Florian Duta with 5,800,000 in chips. The Romanian player lives in the UK but proudly represents Romania and will be gunning to make it the year of Romania indeed. Duta has had some great scores already this year and probably won’t mind adding another title to his name.
In second place in the chip counts is Kevin Frame with 5,110,000. The Scottish player reached the last two tables during the UK Poker Championships here in Nottingham, back in February, and will be aiming for an even better finish in this Main Event.
Eric Afriat closes the podium for Day 1b with 4,150,000, the Canadian poker pro has over $2 million in recorded live tournament cashes but hasn’t managed to collect any European flags yet. So he will be trying to win his first here in Nottingham. partypoker pro Bertrand Grospellier (2,005,000) sat down in the later levels and managed to collect twice the starting stack.
Other notable players that found a bag at the end of the day include, Marc MacDonnell (3,315,000), 2017 partypoker LIVE MILLIIONS UK Main Event Champion, Maria Lampropulos (3,100,000), Scott Margereson (3,080,000), Barny Boatman (3,050,000), Dara O’Kearney (2,930,000), Paul Michaelis (2,900,000), Alex Lynskey (2,850,000), Michael Tureniec (2,620,000), Alex Foxen (1,945,000), and many many more well-known players.
Not everyone succeeded in bagging though, players like Jack Salter, Bas de Laat, Mohsin Charania, Kacper Pyzara, Michael Zhang, Tobias Ziegler, Daniel Edler, James Walker, Chris Sly, Paul Nunes, Ioannis Angelou-Konstas, Terence Donakey, Max Silver, and Javier Zarco.
With 120 seats already given out in the satellites, two more are coming up tomorrow.

Two hands later, Foxen bet 45,000 from the button and now Benoit-Janin called in the big blind. The flop came down and Benoit-Janin check-called the 35,000 continuation-bet of Foxen. The fell on the turn and now Benoit-Janin check-folded to Foxen's bet.
