Day 1b Completed
Another twelve hours and 15 levels are in the books for the second starting flight of the Big Stax XXXI 300, as 32 players advance to Sunday’s Day 2 out of a total 235 entries.
The two starting flights have combined for 543 total entries with 66 players advancings to Day 2 with Marv Siegel (779,500) leading the Day 1b players. Siegel quietly built a stack all day until his tower of chips couldn't go unnoticed.
The same can't be said for James Flippo (585,00), nor Alias Mourtadh (531,00). Flippo stayed along the top majority of the day, but Mourtadh catapulted to the top with a few big hands to end the fight. The first came when he sniffed out John Forsyth's bluff and doubled up holding pocket aces. The next huge hand happened during one of the very final hands of the night after flopping a wheel to earn himself a top three chip stack.
Another player who consistently built a stack was Joseph Garguilo (384,000) was another player who continuously built his stack throughout the entirety of play and ended fourth in chips. Rounding out the fifth-largest stack to end the night was Bin Weng (338,000).
Other players to advance include Dwayne Allen (261,000), Prashanth Nataraj, (241,000), Rajesh Desai (204,000), Maksim Serebrinskiy (172,000), and Sumeet Wayachal (164,500).
