Day 1a of the Parx Big Stax 500 is a wrap! A total of 401 entries registered for the $500+40 tournament at Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, with 108 players making it through the flight.
Some of the big stacks bagging at the end of the night included Ryan Dodd (610,000) and Srikar Chadivae (601,5000), who appeared to bag the two biggest stacks at the end of play.
Other players advancing to Day 2 include Hiyaw Gebreyohannes (565,000), Andrew Kim (496,000) and Gregory Fishberg (479,000).
The field played through 14 45-minute levels Thursday, and the survivors will now await as Friday's Day 1b and Saturday's Day 1c flight play out. The survivors of Day 1a, 1b and 1c will come back as a combined field for Day 2, with the tournament scheduled to play a full day for the Day 2 flight, and play down to a winner on Day 3 Monday.
Late registration in this unlimited re-entry event is still available through the beginning of Level 16, the second level of play scheduled for Day 2. The blinds finished up a 1500/3000/3000 on Day 1, with some of the biggest stacks in the room bagging more than 200 big blinds.
