Huseyin Arkun Doubles Up!

Huseyin Arkun
Huseyin Arkun

As we get into the first level of the Day 1c, Germany's Huseyin Arkun gets the most out of his {7-}{7-} and doubles his stack only 15 minutes before the day's end. All in pre-flop, Arkun was called by an opponent who held {a-}{j-}. A {7-Hearts} on the river did the rest allowing the local hero to grow his stack and book a spot in tomorrow's Day 2.

With blinds at 1,000/2,000 Erich Kollmann jammed his last four big blinds with {A-}{7-}. His opponent called with {A-}{Q-} and neither player improved their hands sending Kollman to the rail. Erich kindly wished the table "Goodnight."

Local Hero Huseyin Arkun Is Back In The Game!

Huseyin Arkun
Huseyin Arkun

After a horrible bad beat in the Day 1c, Germany’s Huseyin Arkun is alive and kicking in the Day 1c.

“I can’t believe it. I shoved with {a-}{a-}, and I got called by an opponent who had nothing. But then, of course, he found a runner-runner flush at the river and sent me to the rails. Seriously, I get Aces once a year and I lose the hand like that. It’s just bad.”

Arkun, who runs one of the many clubs that surround the King’s Casino, is the definition of “a regular” here in Rozvadov.

With live tournament earnings for $122,407, Arkun got 29 of his 30 cashes here at the King’s Casino. His best result so far came only a few weeks ago, when he came third in the World Series if Poker Circuit Event #2 for $24,607.
