Fortunes were not on everyone’s side as the day saw many players fall by the wayside. RGPS Ambassadors Daniel Hughes, Caitlin Comeskey, Nikki Limo, and Taylor Howard all failed to advance but will be back in full force tomorrow. Local regs Mark Feinberg, and Tavish Margers will also have to look to the following flights in the hopes to bag for the second day.
The 12 survivors will return to play on Sunday, November 19, with blinds at 4,000/8,000 unless one of the following flights finds an earlier endpoint. Tomorrow, Saturday, November 18 at 11 a.m. will see the kickoff of Day 1b and 6 PM will be the beginning of Day 1c, as well as the last chance to secure a bag for the second day. With unlimited re-entry in all tournaments and registration open until level 9, players will have ample opportunity to come play for their shot at RGPS glory.

On a heads-up flop of Q♠8♠6♦, Derrick Yamada led out for 12,000 but then Sando Yin quickly moved all in for around 115,000 and Yamada went deep into the tank.
"Man, I really feel like you have aces," Yamada said, shuffling his chips.
After around two full minutes, Yamada slid out a stack of chips to make the call, putting Yin at risk.
Sando Yin: 6♠6♥
Derrick Yamada: Q♦7♠
Yin was a huge favorite with his flopped set of sixes, but the cards were not in his favor as the runout came J♠A♠ to give Yamada a seven-high flush to knock out Yin on the stone bubble in gross fashion.

With the elimination of Kevin 'Big Kev' Meyers, the 13 remaining players are now on the money/bag bubble and hand-for-hand play is in effect.
Robert Fortuno moved all in preflop for around 55,000 and was called by Maurice Thomas to put him at risk of elimination.
Robert Fortuno: A♥6♠
Maurice Thomas: J♣J♠
Thomas was ahead with his jacks, but the flop of 4♥6♦6♣ quickly put him in second place as Fortuno made trip sixes for a big lead.
Then of course came the last 6♥ to give him quads to leave Thomas stone dead while the river was a meaningless 8♦.
Fortuno was then pushed the pot for the double-up while Thomas was left with a starting stack.

The surviving 21 players have been sent on a short break and will return to their 500-chips raced off and colored-up.
Scott Aulds opened to 8,000 and then the player behind him moved all in for around 30,000. Derrick Yamada then made the call but Aulds decided to raise it up again by moving all in for around 130,000 effective.
Yamada went deep into the tank for this one but eventually decided to make the call, putting himself at risk.
Opponent: A♥10♠
Derrick Yamada: 10♣10♥
Scott Aulds: A♠A♣
Aulds was in a great position to win a massive pot with his opponents drawing extremely slim, and everything was going great on the turn 8♣5♠3♣7♥, but the river came crashing the case 10♦ to give Yamada the win.
The table let out a collective groan as Yamada hit the one-outer to claim the huge pot while Aulds was left with only a few big blinds.
Luckily for Aulds, he has been able to spin it back up to around 26,000 so don't count him out just yet.
