RGPS Horseshoe Council Bluffs $420 Main Event
Day 1b Completed
It was another cold and blustery day outside of Horseshoe Council Bluffs, but there was plenty of hot action warming up the felt during Day 1b of the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) $420 Golden Ticket Main Event. Another 294 players entered the action, which with the 211 from yesterday's Day 1a flight, brought the total number of entrants to 505 for the two Day 1 flights.
After just over thirteen levels of play, 47 players managed to reach the end of the day, and Paul Matzinger was able to bag up 400,000 chips to take the chip lead for the flight, and his stack is just barely behind the 412,500 of Day 1a chip leader Shawn Stevenson. "It's gonna happen tomorrow!" Matzinger told PokerNews as he took his leave from the poker room, and with a stack of 100 big blinds, Matzinger sits in prime position to take down the Main Event and claim the Golden Ticket for a seat in the All-Stars ProAm in December.
Other notables who bagged up stacks in today's flight include Matthew Dillon (250,000), Scott Buller (171,000), Paul Strohm (131,000) and Cash Carpenter (117,000).
On the other end of the spectrum, Kenneth Baime couldn't hold on to the run good from winning Event #1: $250 Black Chip Bounty, and was unable to secure a bag for Day 2. Others that failed to advance include Mark Fink, Jon Stanfield, and Mo Nuwwarah.
The remaining 77 players will return on Sunday, November 14th at 10 a.m. to play down to a champion. The day will begin with 18:18 remaining in Level 14, and levels will be 45-minutes in length through Level 21, and increase to an hour in length starting with Level 22. Full payout information and a seat draw will be posted when they are released by the poker room.
PokerNews will be on hand from start to finish tomorrow, so be sure to stay tuned to see who will walk away with one of the last All-Stars ProAm seats available before the exclusive event kicks off in December!
