Day 1f Completed
All six starting flights are in the books. Now the real tournament begins.
The Seneca Fall Poker Classic continued Tuesday with Flight E and Flight F of Event #2, a $125 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournament with a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool. When it was all over, a total of 550 entries were tallied, meaning the guarantee was easily surpassed for the second straight time this tournament was offered at Seneca Niagara.
The many who failed to move on during the first five flights were given one final chance to do so in the evening session. Flight F saw 115 entries hit the felt, with only 26 advancing to Wednesday's Day 2. Leading the way for most of the day was Peter Raimondi, who bagged more than 172,000 in chips when the clock hit zero.
In one of his biggest pots of the night, Raimondi and three other players saw a flop of with two clubs and a player led out for 2,400. Also advancing with big stacks are Dennis Durante, Jeff Salhab, Jesse Ferguson, Oksana Jancevic and Ed Rice.
Day 2 of this tournament will resume Wednesday at noon ET with a total of 114 players competing for the title, and PokerNews will have live coverage all the way until a champion is crowned.
