Another 228 players found their way to the tables today at the Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas, adding to the 896 from the previous three flights as they tried their hand at grabbing a piece of the $50,000,000 Guaranteed prize pool in the fourth and final flight of the first-ever World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise $25,000 Super Main Event.

After ten grueling hour-long levels, there were only 83 remaining and young gun Eric Yanovsky finished the night as the chip leader with an impressive 3,995,000 after rocketing to the top of the leaderboard in Level 7 when he called down with pocket jacks against Charles La Boissonniere and never looking back.

Russia's Mikhail Iakovlev had an exceptional day as well, finishing hot on Yanovsky's heels with 3,800,000, followed by fan favorite Bryn Kenney who turned 150,000 into 3,615,000 in the final level of play.

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

Making a shocking return was Liv Boeree who spent the majority of the day on the feature table with one bullet and closed out the night with a healthy stack of 1,350,000.

Jesse Lonis grinded a short stack for much longer than he'd prefer but thanks to a late-night double with ace-king against the ace-queen of Dimitar Danchev, he managed to bag 1,750,000. Poker influencer's Alexandra Botez and Alexander "wolfgang" Seibt remained on the feature table for the bulk of the action, finishing the day with 1,225,000 and 1,115,000, respectively. Hall of Famer and WSOP Main Event champion Scotty Nguyen also advanced, bringing 700,000 into Day 2.

Not everyone was fortunate enough to advance, including Jean-Noel Thorel, who brings brightness to every table. Thorel had already secured a bag worth 1,500,000 but attempted to bag a higher stack, only to fall short in the final level of the night. Others who made their exits before the end of Day 1d included GG Ambassador Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier, Darren Elias, Vanessa Selbst, Jon Pardy, and Josh Arieh.

The 228 entries on Day 1d brought the total for the event to 1,124 through four starting flights, with 387 securing spots into Day 2. All surviving players from the four starting flights combine for Day 2 on December 16 at noon local time. Registration remains open through the first three levels of play.

Make sure to stay tuned to PokerNews as reporters will be on site to provide live updates throughout the day.

Play Concludes for the Night

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Play has concluded for the night and the remaining 83 players will join the previous three flights tomorrow at 12:00 p.m.

Stay tuned for the end of the night chip counts and recap of Day 1d.

Atac First to Leave, Among the Last to Depart

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Marta Munoz raised to 50,000 under the gun and Salih Atac moved all in for 450,000 in the cutoff. Munoz took her time but eventually called to put Atac at risk.

Salih Atac: 55 All in
Marta Munoz: AQ

Atac was flipping for his tournament life on one of the last hands of the night as the flop came K88. The K fell on the turn and Atac's pair was counterfeited, allowing Munoz to take the pot with her ace once the 10 fell on the river as Atac, who was the first player eliminated back in the first level, was again sent to the rail as among the last to depart on Day 1d.

Wilson Can't Pull the Trigger Against Melogno

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Taylor Wilson three-bet to 135,000 in middle position and Pablo Melogno called in early position.

The flop came 842 and Wilson bet 65,000. Melogno called to the 3 turn, where Wilson bet another 220,000. Melogno again called.

Melogno checked over to Wilson again on the Q river and Wilson took a few minutes before checking behind. Melogno then showed JJ and Wilson flung his arms in the air before mucking.

"I almost went for it," Wilson said.

Boianovsky Climbs Late in the Night

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

A board of 886J was spread across the felt with a little over 600,000 already in the middle. Antoine Saout led out with a bet of 200,000 in the cutoff and Felipe Boianovsky called on the button.

The river was the 6 and Saout shut it down with a checked this time. Boianovsky checked it back and Saout tabled KQ for air while Boianovsky held 76 for a full house.

Kenney Picks Up Kings to Double Off Zhou

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Bryn Kenney three-bet to 140,000 on the button and Quan Zhou four-bet to 335,000 in the small blind. The table folded back to Kenney who moved all in for 940,000, and Zhou eventually called after considering the decision for about 30 seconds.

Bryn Kenney: KK All in
Quan Zhou: AQ

Zhou was looking for an ace to overcome Kenney's kings and score the late-night knockout, but the 76258 board only improved Kenney to a flush as Zhou handed over the double up.
