Even after Shawn “100Grand” Berthiaume bubbled in 372nd place, it was a long slog to the final table. Among those to make deep runs but come up short were Dave “dunningjrugr” Alfa (99th - $1,282.68), Mike “The Mouth” Matusow (88th - $$1,374.30), Matt “Berkey11_S4Y” Berkey (75th - $1,465.92), Ryan “bitc0in” Riess (70th - $1,649.16), Donna “dd817” DiCrescento (43rd - $2,830.22), Alexander “amzzzz” Ziskin (23rd - $4,397.76), Taylor “AyeTayTay24” Laran (16th - $5,497.20), and William “Potrippper” Klevitz (11th - $8,887.14).

Kenneth “KBconcepts” Phillips began the final table as the chip leader with Vincent “meatball44” Ablahani and Michael “namhtiw1” Whitman hot on his heels. The other six players lagged behind, and it was no surprise to see a couple of them exit early.

Paul “Debt2Me” Gunness was the first to go after failing to get lucky with ace-four suited against the pocket jacks of Whitman, who then picked up Big Slick to bust Michael “vapor098” Federico and his ace-jack.

Despite the early success, Whitman wound up going next after losing a big flip with pocket nines to Huynh, who had ace-king and flopped Broadway. Hunter “Hunt_Dizzle” Frey then got his chips in on the turn with trip jack and had to fade the straight and flush draws of Huynh. Unfortunately for Frey, that was easier said than done as the rivered delivered his opponent a diamond flush.

Phillips busted in fifth place when his ace-ten failed to overcome the pocket sevens of Ablahani, and then Sang “youngkoi” Lee lost a flip with jacks against Huynh’s ace-king suited to fall in fourth.

Matthew “610610” Berger proceeded to bust Ablahani in third place when the duo got it in on the turn with the former holding a set of sixes to the latter’s top two pair, and that allowed Berger to take a nearly 2:1 chip lead into heads-up play against Huynh.

Despite starting at a disadvantage, Huynh fought his way into the chip lead and closed things out in a hand where both players had trip sixes, but Huynh’s three kicker actually improved him to a winning straight.

The next tournament on the schedule – Event #20: $500 PLO 6-Handed – will take place at 3 p.m. PDT on Monday. The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will once again be reporting all the action, so be sure to tune in then to see who captures the next 2020 WSOP bracelet!

Matthew "610610" Berger Eliminated in 2nd Place ($82,732.86)

Level 42 : 140,000/280,000, 35,000 ante

Kenny "Chopuh" Huynh opened on the button and Matthew "610610" Berger defended to see a {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop.

Berger check-called Huynh's continuation bet and saw the {6-Hearts} pair the board on the turn.

Berger check-raised Huynh's 1,181,250 bet to 3,150,000 and Huynh called to see the {2-Spades} complete the board on the river.

Berger checked their option one last time only to put their 10,987,538 stack in the middle after Huynh jammed for 19,312,462.

Berger showed {9-Hearts}{6-Spades} for trip sixes but Huynh rivered the straight holding {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} ending Berger's tournament in second place.

Vincent "meatball44" Ablahani Eliminated in 3rd Place ($60,744.05)

Level 42 : 140,000/280,000, 35,000 ante

Vincent "meatball44" Ablahani raised to 560,000 from the button and "610610" called from the small blind. Kenny "Chopuh" Huynh came along as well and it was a family pot to the {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop. Two checks saw Ablahani continued for 1,120,000 and only "610610" called to see the {q-Spades} turn.

Huynh checked, Ablahani bet 2,572500, and Huynh check-raised all in for 10,353,360. Ablahani called off for 10,336,678 total and the hands were turned up.

"610610": {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Vincent "meatball44" Ablahani: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Both players had huge hands but "610610" was best with a set. The {10-Spades} river changed nothing and just like that Ablahani was gone in third place.

Sang "youngkoi" Lee Eliminated in 4th Place ($44,985.42)

Level 42 : 140,000/280,000, 35,000 ante

Kenny "Chopuh" Huynh opened for 560,000 on the button and then called Sang "youngkoi" Lee's 4,180,714 three-bet jam from the big blind.

Sang "youngkoi" Lee: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Kenny "Chopuh" Huynh: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Lee was ahead until an ace appeared in the window on the {6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop.

The {5-Spades} turn was no help to Lee nor was the {6-Hearts} river ending his tournament in fourth place.

Kenneth "KBconcepts" Phillips Eliminated in 5th Place ($33,624.54)

Level 42 : 140,000/280,000, 35,000 ante

Action folded to Kenneth "KBconcepts" Phillips in the small blind and he moved all in for 3,779,996, which Vincent "meatball44" Ablahani called from the big blind.

Vincent "meatball44" Ablahani: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Kenneth "KBconcepts" Phillips: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

It was a flip and Phillips was looking to improve to survive. The {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop gave him a gutshot straight draw, but he missed as the {k-Spades} turn and {8-Spades} river both bricked.

Hunter Frey

Kenny "Chopuh" Huynh opened for 480,000 and Hunter "Hunt_Dizzle" Frey defended his big blind to see a {7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop.

Frey check-called Huynh's 420,000 continuation bet and then got his last 2,570,146 stack in the middle after the {a-Diamonds} appeared on the turn.

Kenny "Chopuh" Huynh: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Hunter "Hunt_Dizzle" Frey: {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Frey was ahead with his trip jacks but the {6-Diamonds} appeared on the river completing Huynh's flush and eliminating Frey in sixth place.

Michael “namhtiw1” Whitman Eliminated in 7th Place ($19,148.58)

Level 41 : 120,000/240,000, 30,000 ante

Michael “namhtiw1” Whitman raised to 480,000 from early position only to have Kenny "Chopuh" Huynh three-bet to 1,627,500 next to act. Action folded back to Whitman and they four-bet jammed for 5,560,940, which Huynh called.

Michael “namhtiw1” Whitman: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Kenny "Chopuh" Huynh: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

It was a flip and "namhtiw1" was looking to hold. That didn't happen though as the {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop gave Huynh the nuts. The {k-Spades} turn left "namhtiw1" looking for an ace on the river just to chop, but that didn't happen as the {7-Diamonds} rolled off instead.
