Daniel Smiljkovic Leads the Final Nine in Event #8: $5,000 6-Handed Championship
It took just under eight hours for a field of 479 players to be knocked down to just nine in Event #8: $5,000 6-Handed Championship, and there is one player who is well ahead of the field in this 2021 GGPoker Online WSOP Event.
Daniel Smiljkovic will be bringing in over a quarter of the chips in play tomorrow with a massive stack of 6,825,466. His next closest competitor, "P0t RippeR" has 4,558,643 with Xuming "scplayer" Qi completing the top three. Also still alive in this stacked field are George Wolff, Marius Gierse, and Aki "Seabossss" Virtanen.

Some of the big names who finished in the money, but short of the Day 2 finals, included Kelvin Kerber (11th), Pete Chen (16th), Anatoly FIlatov (30th), GGPoker TwitchSquad member Kevin Martin (34th), Mark Radoja (43rd), and GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu (49th).
The action will pick up again on Wednesday, August 11th, at 5 p.m. GMT. The blinds will be 35,000/70,000. Once play gets down to the final table, the blinds will be reset so that the average stack is 40 big blinds.
