Day 2 of the Event #35: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. (8-Handed) has concluded at the 2024 World Series of Poker inside Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. The day started with 210 players and finished with 23 players bagging up for Day 3. The chip leader after Day 2 is Bryan Jolly (3,045,000) who has more than double the stack of every other player left in the field.
Behind Jolly at the top of the leaderboard is Xixiang Luo (1,425,000) in second, and Christian Gonzalez (1,365,000) in third. The chip leader after Day 1, Daniel Mayoh (1,220,000), is in fifth.

Of the 210 players who arrived for Day 2, only 126 were able to cash in the event. With 835 entries in the tournament, a prize pool of $1,114,725 was created, with a min-cash being worth $3,004 and a top prize of $194,545. All 23 players remaining have locked up a cash of $7,401.

The 126 players who cashed avoided hand-for-hand play when there were multiple bust-outs near the bubble. The final player to be eliminated to burst the money bubble was Poker Hall of Famer Todd Brunson .
Defending champion Yuri Dzivielevski is among the 23 players who will be back for Day 3. The four-time bracelet winner will be looking to defend his title after having a rollercoaster type of a day. At one point late into the evening, he was near a million chips and fell all the way to below 200,000 chips. He ended the night bagging 690,000 chips for Day 3, which puts him in 16th place on the leaderboard.
Other notable bracelet winners still in the field include three-time winners Phillip Hui and John Cernuto. Also still in the field is two-time winner Daniel Strelitz.
Notable players who cashed but were not able to make Day 3 include Shaun Deeb, Calvin Anderson, Michael Moncek, Scott Clements, Marco Johnson, Ari Engel, Jake Schwartz, and Jared Jaffee.
Play resumes at 1 p.m local time on June 14. Players will be coming back to Level 22 with 20,000-40,000 limits. It will be 60-minute levels, with the expectation of playing down to a winner. There will be a 15-minute break after every two levels, and a dinner break is to be determined.
