Bubble Bursts
The remaining 809 players are all in the money. One of the hands that burst the bubble, negating the need for a hand for hand process was when Frank Bengs called an opponent's 10,500 shove from the cutoff with Ace-King against his opponent's pocket nines. By the end of the river, Bengs had knocked out his opponent, who was left standing waiting to see if he had made it into the money.
Sadly he hadn't, and the likes of Gerald Trask (1,300) and John Carlsen (800) managed to squeak into the money.
Joining these pair of short-stacks in the money were Dan Heimiller, Barny Boatman, Greg Raymer, Bill Klein and Cliff Josephy.
Also making the money was Jess Hamilton who made his way in through a $100 satellite and has now parlayed that into at least a $1,499 payday.
