Event #5: THE COLOSSUS - €550 No-Limit Hold'em
Day 1h Completed
Day 1h of Event #5: THE COLOSSUS ended today with 29 players making it through to Day 2 on Wednesday November 1st. After more than 9 hours of play Jaroslaw Sikora takes the chip lead honours for Day 1h with 507,00 chips. This also means he is the overall chip leader of all the players that have made it to Day 2 already.
Sikora has been here for a few weeks already having cashed three times this month during the WSOP Circuit events. Sikora is definitely no stranger to big tournaments and big cashes as he has accumulated more than $1,000,000 in live cashes already. Second in chips is Laszlo Toth from Hungary who has also been here in Rozvadov for a while already. He has two cashes in the earlier WSOP Circuit events here. He is taking 484,500 with him to the tables on Wednesday. Sander van Wesemael is third in chips today with 472,000. After nursing a pretty short stack at the beginning of the day, things started going a lot better for him in the second half of the day.
Other notables making it through to Day 2 are Michael Magalashvili (241,500), new WSOPE bracelet winner Martin Kabrhel (235,000), Erich Kollmann (217,500), Erik Cajelais (160,500) and Vladimir Burstein (120,000). Unfortunately, not everyone make it through today, players like Theodoros Aidonopoulos, Catalin Pop, Pierre Neuville, Sebastian Langrock, Chris Ferguson, Ryan Hughes, Dermot Blain and many others fell today.
The last two flights take place tomorrow here at the King’s Casino so stay tuned to PokerNews for all the latest news.

Jaco Valk was down to his last 36,000 after losing eights against ace-queen earlier and then losing with pocket sixes against ace-king. The flop was good for him when it came six-nine-queen but then the jack came on the turn and the ten on the river to give his opponent a runner-runner straight.

Adam Wierzgon had gone all in from the button and action was now on Davood Mehrmand in the small blind. He went in the tank and eventually the clock was called on him. The floor came over and asked the dealer if he had had sufficient time to make a decision. The dealer confirmed so the floor gave Mehrmand 30 seconds to decide what he was going to do. When the time ran down to 5 seconds, the floor started counting down all the way to the end and declared his hand dead. Frederick Bittar, in the big blind, snap-called. Mehrmand angrily threw his cards into the muck, face open, which were .
Frederick Bittar:
Adam Wierzgon:
The board ran out - Bittar hit a nine on the flop giving him the better two pair with nines and sixes. The fact that the jack fell on the flop seemed to anger Mehrmand even more as he went into a bit of a rant. Wierzgon calmly grabbed his stuff and left the table. Bittar didn't say much either and just started stacking up his new chips.
