Day 1f of Event #15: €550 Colossus No-Limit Hold'em for the 2019 World Series of Poker has concluded and it was the busiest one, out of the six flights that belong to the past until now. Judging by the number of players flocking into the poker room here at King's Resort during the late stages of this day, the next three starting days will be even busier, as it happens usually with the flights that are closer to the Day 2 of an event.
The total number of entrants for Day 1f was 341, out of which just 40 managed to advance to Day 2. Simon Burns is the player who bagged the biggest stack with 635,000 chips, even though he entered during the ninth level of the day. He found quickly the right spots to earn chips and his lead could have been even bigger, if he didn't lose two flips near the end of the day. In order to chip up during the course of the day he eliminated Eitan Boorchook with ace-nice against jack-ten, and later he sent Jakub Rotter to the rail, with ace-three against ace-ten when he rivered a straight. Burns has almost one million in lifetime cashes, according to the Hendon Mob database and for now he has just secured a min-cash by advancing to Day 2, however he has the appropriate stack to navigate through the field and run deep in the event.
Pavel Kellner with 473,000 and Mick Heder with 369,000 round up the top three in the counts, while other familiar names that bagged chips are Wojciech Wyrebski (334,000), Michael Horn (271,000), and Daniel Dinulescu (172,000).
Day 1f Action
The day started with more than 100 entries sitting at the tables, a significant growth in comparison with the previous starting flights. After the first twelve levels that the registration was open, the total number of entries reached 341, almost double than the previous bigger starting flight, which was Day 1e with 171 entrants.
One of the most interesting stories of Day 1f was once again the battle of the 2019 WSOP Player of the Year, with Shaun Deeb, Daniel Negreanu and Robert Campbell fighting tooth and nail for the required points to win the race. This is the last event that counts towards the leaderboard and Deeb had already advanced to Day 2 from Day 1c, with a 210,000 stack. He decided to forfeit this stack and entered again during Day 1f managing to advance once more, this time with a 215,000 stack, however he has already played subsequent flights Day 1d and Day 1e without success.
Negreanu and Campbell didn't have the same luck, as Negreanu busted with kings against Panagiotis Petrou's queen-jack, who defended from the big blind Negreanu's preflop raise and check-shoved a queen high flop only to get called by Negreanu and find a jack on the river to bust him before the money.
Robert Campbell's bustout wasn't witnessed but he posted a tweet about it.

When the last level of the day started, there were still 57 players in the field and 52 of them would finish in the money. The elimination of the last players before the payouts happened in the blink of an eye without even a hand-for-hand required for the bubble to burst. The 52 remaining players that had secured a place in the money would play almost half a level before the end of the day and during this level the field was left with 40 players.

With Day 1f's numbers, the total entrants have reached four-digits with 1,028 entries. Only 110 of them have managed to bag chips after the first six flights of the event and they will return for Day 2 on Sunday, November 3rd, unless they decide to forfeit their stack and play one of the three starting flights remaining.

Christian Mohr raised it up from the hijack and Matous Houzvicek shoved all in for 58,000 in the small blind. Mohr made the call but found out he was dominated when the cards were on their backs.

While the tournament clock was paused because of four eliminations occurring at the same time, the tournament director was also in the process of breaking one table. Avital Katz found himself all in and at risk for his last 40,000 chips.
Unfortunately for Katz, who found some success earlier in the day, he was eliminated on the money bubble today. He will still have the opportunity to enter any of the three remaining flights if he wants to find a bag for Day 2.
