Day 1c Completed
The Bally's Black Hawk 2021 Colorado Poker Championship $1,450 Main Event drew 116 entries on Day 1c, the third and final flight of the tournament to bring the total number of entries up to 307. When play concluded at the end of the night, 21 players remained and added their names to Sunday's Day 2 roster alongside the 26 who advanced from the event's first two flights.
Jason Vanstrom (305,000) finished the day atop the counts, chipping up to just shy of that amount with four levels of play still remaining on the night. Nobody else caught him as the field largely remained bunched together through the final two-plus hours of the night. Tracy Allgeier (289,500) came the closest to doing so, exhibiting an impressive showing of his own after dipping well below starting stack during the opening levels of play.
Other notables to advance included Ryan Dodson (201,000), Phil Gioia (157,500), Matt Livingston (151,000), Vincent Moscati (138,500), and Ben Keeline (92,000).
The top two players on the CPC points leader board in Bobby Sanoubane and Jason Welch both failed to make it through the day, leaving the potential for those further down to overtake them. Corey Zedo, Danny Gonzales, Matt Johnston also were among those to fall short of a bag.
A total of 47 players will return to Sunday's Day 2, which will begin at 11 a.m. local time, one hour earlier than Day 1's noon start. The top 31 places will make it into the money, with plenty of room for play all day long as levels increase to one hour in length. There is no scheduled end time for Day 2, as play will conclude when the final table of nine is reached before playing down to a winner on Monday.
PokerNews will be back at it when cards go in the air. See you in the morning.
After several players appeared to contend for the end-of-day chip lead with nobody pulling away, the dust has settled with Jason Vanstrom leading the pack as the only player to finish above 300K.
Complete chip counts from all 21 to advance have been posted below. Stay tuned for a recap of the day's action.

Sean Maher:
Maxx Holland:
Holland picked up four more outs on but running left Maher on top to secure the double.
Hand #2: On the very next hand, Holland open-jammed for his last 29,500 under the gun and action folded around to Maher in the big blind, who looked at his two cards and then dropped a chip onto the felt to signify a call.
Maxx Holland:
Sean Maher:
Holland's night came to an end as the board ran out [a6dac7hjcad], giving Maher trips to take the rest of Holland's stack.

Jason Dennis:
Tracy Allgeier:
Dennis was in a coin-flip situation for his tournament life and needed to hold avoid being sent home early. The flop gave him a set, but he still had four outs to fade. The turn and river came cleanly in his favor and he scored the dub with nines full.

Ben Keeline raised to 6,000 under the gun and was three-bet to 18,000 by Sammy Aweida in the hijack. Action made its way back to Keeline and he four-bet jammed for 46,500 with Aweida immediately calling.
Ben Keeline:
Sammy Aweida:
Keeline saw no ladies come on a runout of and scored the dub at Aweida's expense. Immediately after Keeline doubled, Mike Kester was eliminated from an adjacent table and Keeline was moved in order to balance with 24 remaining.
"You're gonna hit and run like that?" said Matt Livingston with a smile as Keeline headed to his new seat.
