Day 2 Completed
The final table of the 2012 $25,000 High Roller has been set after just under 10 hours of play on Day 2. When the day began, 56 players remained. At the end of the day, the field was whittled all the way down just eight with Jason Koon topping the final bunch with 1.646 million in chips.
Koon is no stranger to big buy-in events, but he's never cashed in anything above a $10,000 buy-in (which is still pretty hefty, though). Since 2008, Koon has been grinding the tournament circuit, racking up $427,251 of prize money in the process. His largest live score came in October of 2010 when he placed fourth in the World Poker Tour Festa Al Lago at the Bellagio in Las Vegas for $225,680. Koon and the other seven players have locked up a minimum of $108,780 for making this final table, meaning he'll be adding plenty more to those lifetime tournament earnings.
Joining Koon at the final table will be a very elite group of players. The 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel, Team Online's Randy Lew, fifth-place finisher from last year Govert Metaal, Isaac Haxton, Leonid Bilokur, Nicolas Fierro and Michael Telker will all be joining Koon at noon tomorrow to play things out for the $1,134,930 first-place prize.

While Nick Yunis was being eliminated, Michael Telker, Jason Koon, and Govert Metaal were building a big pot on the other table. Metaal started the action, raising to 25,000 from the cutoff seat. Telker three-bet to 68,000 on the button, Koon cold four-bet to 123,000 from the small blind, and the action was back on Metaal.
"How much is the minimum raise?" he asked the dealer.
The dealer examined Telker's three-bet and Koon's four-bet, and informed Metaal that the minimum raise would be to 178,000. Metaal decided to make it 190,000, Telker immediately folded, and Koon called.
The flop fell , and both players checked. The turned, and Koon led for 142,000. Metaal sat quietly for around thirty seconds, then folded face up.
