It was another fast-paced day in Event #47, the fifth of the six $1,000 buy-in no-limit hold'em events. We started with 476 players and played all of the way down to just 33.

Olivier Busquet and Allan Baekke both spent time at the top of the counts as the day wore on, but in the end it was Manuel Davidian bagging the most of anyone, with his 889,000 chips barely squeezing into the bag provided to him. Adam White, Jason Riesenberg, and Owen Crowe all bagged more than half a million as well.

Also coming back to tomorrow's Day 3 -- Scott Montgomery, winner of Event #36, the last of these $1,000 no-limit hold'em events.

One Mann Down

In the last hand of the night, Jason Mann -- not Jason Aaron Mann -- was all in before the flop with {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} against Manuel Davidian's {10-Hearts} {10-Spades}

The flop came {3-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {A-Clubs} , and Mann was ahead. The turn was the {8-Spades} , and he was still okay. But the {10-Clubs} fell on the river, and Mann was eliminated.

That hand carried Davidian up over the 850,000 -- definitely one of the biggest stacks in the room as the bagging commences.

Chu Busto

When we arrived at the table all the chips were in, and Jason Riesenberg tabled {8-Spades} {8-Clubs} . In the other side of the table, Jeffrey Chu showed {4-Spades} {4-Clubs} .

The board ran out {7-Hearts} {k-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {q-Spades} {3-Diamonds} and Chu is out of the tournament. Riesenberg is now up to 605,000 chips.

Bad River for Matuson-Taylor

A player raised from the button, and Stacy Matuson-Taylor pushed all in from the button for 120,000. Her opponent called, showing {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} . Matuson-Taylor showed {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts} .

The flop came {J-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} -X, and Matuson-Taylor's tens were still good. The turn was the {7-Hearts} , and she just needed to fade one more card. But the river was the {10-Spades} , giving her opponent a straight and sending her to the rail with a just a few minutes left in play tonight.
