Event #6: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout
Day 2 Completed
Thirty-six runners returned to the Rio today with one goal in mind; make the final table.
Among the players were marquee pros like Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Dario Minieri and John Duthie. But at the end of the day, it was the relatively unknowns who made their mark.
Stuart Rutter, Neil Channing, Nicolas Levi, Brent "bhanks11" Hanks, Josh Tieman and Joe Elpayaa were the best players at their tables today. Their reward? A seat at tomorrow's final table and a guaranteed $71,998.
One of these six players will capture $441,692 and their first World Series of Poker bracelet.
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will continue to follow all the action, and to find out who wins the gold and the cash check back in tomorrow starting at 2:30 p.m. Vegas time!

Elpayaa:
Katz:
Katz needed to improve, but neither the on the turn nor the on the river would suffice.
Katz fought valiantly, but will unfortunately have to settle for a final table bubble.
For Elpayaa it's on to the next one.
Joe Elpayaa has regained the chip lead from Cary Katz.
Elpayaa took 100,000 chips from Katz preflop to take the lead. Elpayaa opened to 38,000 and Katz re-raised to 100,000. Elpayaa shipped and Katz folded.
